Certificate III in Children's Service
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This Certificate is for people who want a career working with Children in this high demand industry. Due to recent government changes, it is now a requirement for any child care workers to have the Certificate III in Children's Services as a minimum qualification.
Industry providers have reported a difficulty in being able to find qualified staff. The skills shortages affect all states and territories but most prominent in NSW and QLD where there are simply not enough workers with the correct qualifications.

Pacific International College will endeavour to place you within a Child Care Centre close to your location. If you are already working in a child care centre, you are able to undertake your industry experience within your workplace.

Certificate III Guarantee Participant Eligibility
To be eligible to receive a Government Contribution under the Certificate 3 Guarantee, prospective Participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
the Program is for any Queensland resident who does not already hold, or is not alreadyenrolled in, a post-school certificate III or higher level qualification from 1 July 2013 (this includes any equivalent certificate III or higher level qualification irrespective of whether the qualification is through a university degree, apprenticeship or traineeship pathway)
(Note: certificate III qualifications completed at secondary school are not counted)
(Note: participants under the Single and Teenage Parent Program (STPP), a jointly funded State and Commonwealth initiative under the National Partnership Agreement for Training Places for Single and Teenage Parents, are exempt from the eligibility criteria relating to previous qualification attained);
Prospective Participants must also be:
aged 15 years of age or above
no longer at school
a Queensland resident i.e. Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident residing in Queensland or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland.
Employment status does not matter - a Participant can be unemployed and seeking work, or working on a full-time, part-time or casual basis.
